Performs clerical accounting tasks related to processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, and other tasks as assigned. Reports to Controller. Provides assistance to Senior Accountant and Accounts Receivable Specialist as well as the Payroll Department.

The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such duties are a logical assignment to the position. • Review, analyze and process Accounts Payable for NFTA. • Process and issue checks. • Audit vendor accounts to ensure payments are up to date. • Insure timeliness of AP expense processing on a monthly basis to insure expenses are fully captures in the appropriate month. • Records cash receipts for accounts receivable customers. • Performs general office duties including filing, copying, financial record keeping, document storage and other duties as assigned. • Engages in frequent communication with employees, department managers and vendors. • Performs data entry of various types of payroll input to include editing, review and balance functions. • Assists Payroll Department as needed • Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Knowledge of basic accounting/general ledger principals. Through knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. Proficient in 10-key. Must have excellent customer service skills. Requires strong math and analytical skills.

Physical Requirements:

Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5–10 pounds).

Environmental Requirements:

Work is performed in usual office conditions with rare exposure to disagreeable environmental factors.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree in Accounting and two (2) years accounting experience including processing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll. Must have excellent customer service skills and proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Testing will be conducted in Excel, Word and 10-key.
